Lifted Ram to Model 3 and no regrets!!!
By Robbie8919Â |Â on Friday, December 06, 2019
First off, I am a gear head and LOVED my truck. I was one very skeptical about being able to love an all electric car, until I test drove it. As soon as I drove it I understood. The car is amazing and really fun to drive. I commute in the DC area with statistically some of the worst traffic in the country. Within 2 weeks of purchase and using autopilot on my commute (86 miles daily), there was a noticable drop in my stress level. Stress that I never knew was there. I actually began enjoying my commute because of this car. On 2 road trips we took it was amazing. Over the road charging was a cinch and readily available via Tesla and 3rd party chargers (which commonly are free). The car performs great and navigated highway mountains with not a single noticable loss of power or stress to vehicle. It was super comfortable and had ample space for a family of 4 with car seats installed for little ones. Also had more space than we needed for our family's luggage in the trunk (week long trips). It's a blast to drive, handles like it is on rails, provides nothing but confidence when driving in all types of weather. I have the all white interior and thought Tesla was crazy for suggesting that for my young kids, but I trusted them and they wow'd me again. A month after getting my Tesla I ran to hardware store while working on my truck's suspension. I didn't know I had used grease from the truck's control arms on the back of my jeans until I got back to my car to go home. I was angry because the used grease was smeared across my entire driver's seat and had baked in the summer sun for about 2 hours..... It actually took me less than 5 minutes to get ALL of the grease out of my seat to the original pure white color with NO residual staining. AMAZING!!! Okay, so time for the bad. It's not a pickup truck (obviously). Had to be said because I loved my truck. But the worst things are actually more knit picking than anything else. The automatic sensor is wonky. If you use the karaoke feature on the radio it always requires a soft reboot before it will work again. The Bluetooth microphone for calls is hit or miss. The screen menus take time to learn to navigate, but still aren't always intuitive ( professionally I'm a Systems Engineer ). The phone key works better on some phones than others ( not really a Tesla fixable problem, but none the less an annoyance ). When I took delivery the car was not fully charged and the right rear tire has a persistent leak, which Tesla said they would address, but still. Overall- I can live with most of the quirky things because coming from a lifted Ram truck to my AWD Model 3 has been amazing. I love the car and plan to get another Tesla when we are ready to trade the our other vehicle.… - 4.0
cost and time to repair is terrible.

I have a minor dent in the rear quarter panel. Because the sheetmetal is aluminum, the cost to repair--which in this case means replace--is $5000 and the time it takes to have the work done is estimated at 4-6 weeks. Regular body shops can't and/or wont do the work. Otherwise the car is wonderful, but the cost and time to repair is a major problem… - 5.0
I'm never looking back
By Ron | on Monday, December 23, 2019
This is far and away the BEST vehicle I have ever driven, bar none. A delight to drive and essentially no maintenance. There are reports of some manufacturing errors in past years, but I've had my "3" for a year and so far, for lack of a better term, it is perfect.…
