Back in 2006, Byron Britain decided he'd had enough of the "car sales game." After years in the industry, he realized he didn't like the high-pressure tactics or the lack of transparency he saw elsewhere. He knew there was a better way to treat people.

When the opportunity arose to buy the Chevrolet store in Greenville, Byron and Misty took a leap of faith. They didn't have a flashy corporate budget; they just had a vision of a dealership where honesty and integrity came first.

Cribs in the Office, Buckets on the Floor

The early days weren’t easy. The original building desperately needed repair. When it rained, the team scrambled to place buckets across the showroom floor to catch the leaks.

Operating the dealership was a true family affair. With Byron and Misty both working around the clock to keep the doors open, their kids literally grew up in the dealership. Between the desks and the displays in the offices, there were cribs. If you were inside, you probably saw Byron and Misty's 4-year-old daughter, Macey, dashing between showroom models.

During the 2008 economic crash, many other dealerships folded, but the Britains leaned into their community, kept the budget tight, and worked harder. Eventually, they repaired the roof and put away the buckets. Then the "Britain Way" of doing business began to thrive.
